A stunning photograph of the total solar eclipse over North America in April, 2024. At the moment of total eclipse arcs of crimson red prominences become visible to the eye as flares thousands of miles tall rise off the surface of the sun, suspended by magnetic fields.

The Special Edition rendition of this iconic image is in the form of a triptych; a grouping of (3) dye-sublimated Chromaluxe metal prints mounted on a black tuxedo floating frame. The left and the right artworks are 12×36 inches, and the center artwork is 22×44. Depending on spacing between panels (1.5” recommended), the set commands a space of 44 × 48 (inches) on the wall.

‘Gateway to the Gods #1’ is a favorite in Alexanders’s collection, and the A.P. version of this special edition print resides in his home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It depicts the iconic Kumano Nachi Taisha Temple and the famous Nachi Falls - Japan’s tallest single drop waterfall and one of Japan’s Three Sacred Waterfalls. Clouds whisk through the mountains where millennia ago small boats landed on these shores and brought Buddhism to Japan.

The sun burns through the fog that danced through the hills at dawn. In the distance of the horizon you can see a cathedral spire of the near town Pienza. Eventually the attention turns back to the belvedere, and like a second sip of wine you discover something new — a grove of olive trees standing in the shade, waiting to be kissed by the soft Tuscan sun...
